Fully Funded Scholarships In Canada In 2025 (Part 2)

Without any further ado, let's jump right into the second series of fully funded scholarships in Canada in the upcoming application cycle.

6. Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship

Academic Level: Post-doctoral

Eligible Countries: All

Eligibility Criteria:
a. Applicants who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada may only hold their Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at a Canadian institution.
b. Areas of research are - Health research, Natural sciences and/or engineering, Social sciences and/or humanities

7. Google PhD Fellowship Program

Academic Level: PhD

Eligible Countries: All

Eligibility Criteria:
a. Students must remain enrolled full-time in the PhD program for the duration of the Fellowship
b. Students that are already supported by a comparable inustrAn international student (i.e., a non-Canadian requiring a study permit)
c. Past awardees from the PhD Fellowship are not eligible to apply
d. Google employees, and their spouses, children, and members of their household are not eligible. 

Application Deadline: Dependent on the university

8. McGill Entrance Program Need-based aid

Academic Level: Master’s

Eligible Countries: All

Eligibility Criteria: 
a. Enrol in a full-time degree program at the University
b. Demonstrate financial need, including the intention to apply for government student aid and/or indigenous Band Support Funding

Application Deadline: Within 30 days from the date of formal acceptance to the University

9. Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Academic Level: Postoctoral

Eligible Countries: All

Eligibility Criteria:
a. Must have completed all requirements of their PhD no more than 24 months prior to the anticipated fellowship start date.
b. Must not currently hold a tenure-track or continuing faculty position at a university or college.
c. Should have shown outstanding ability in research, in that they would be likely to contribute to the advancement of learning or to win distinction in their profession.
d. Should not be one-sided, and have a sound character that complements their intellect.

10. Four Year Doctoral Fellowship

Academic Level: PhD

Eligible Countries: All

Eligibility Criteria:
a.Offered to students beginning their first year of full time PhD, DMA, or MDPhD studies.
b. Students holding the following Tri-Agency awads automatically become 4YF designates: Vanier Scholarships, Doctoral Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGSD), CIHR Doctoral Research Awards, NSERC Doctoral Postgraduate Scholarships (PGSD), and SSHRC Doctoral Fellowships.

Application Deadline: December 2024
